Theo builds digital tools that help people find a source, understand a result, and see what remains uncertain. He prefers useful context to confident interface theater.

His product work starts with the task a reader is trying to complete. Theo asks whether search terms match the language in the source, whether an image clarifies the result, and whether citations survive the path into an answer. He avoids hidden ranking claims and designs for keyboard, touch, and varied reading conditions.

Education

Theo holds an MSc in human-computer interaction from Aalto University and a BSc in computer science from the University of Toronto. His education combined software engineering, interaction design, accessibility, information retrieval, user research, and evaluation of systems whose outputs depend on incomplete or ambiguous input.

Experience

He has built open-data and search experiences in his fictional professional background. His work includes source linking, filters, result explanations, typo handling, and interfaces that expose uncertainty without overwhelming the reader. He has also learned that a technically available dataset may still be difficult to use because its context is scattered.

Current focus

His current focus is trustworthy discovery across pages, stories, profiles, and products. He wants a misspelled query to reach the right evidence, a product result to show real availability, and an answer to cite the indexed page that supports it. Accessibility and clear failure states remain part of the core brief.

Beyond work

Theo volunteers at a repair cafe and builds mechanical keyboards from replaceable parts. He enjoys tools whose behavior can be inspected and changed. His own keyboard is quiet enough for shared rooms, a design constraint he regards as more important than novelty.
